The event was hosted by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Office of Overseas Chinese Affairs and the Guangxi Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. Lin Huaiyong, Director of the Guangxi Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, encouraged the media to serve as “bridges of cultural exchange,” urging journalists to delve into local villages and traditions through features on culture and folk customs, thereby presenting the beauty of Guangxi to global audiences. He also called on media professionals to act as “messengers of opportunity,” showcasing Guangxi’s potential in regional cooperation and illustrating the province’s contribution to China’s rural revitalization. Additionally, Lin highlighted the importance of being “explorers of media innovation,” encouraging collaboration with local media through cloud-based labs and the use of multi-language livestreams, VR, and virtual anchors to enhance international communication.
Yuan Yan, Deputy Director of Washington Chinese Television, noted that overseas Chinese media have a key role in communicating Guangxi’s cultural charm and developmental progress. She emphasized a focus on intangible cultural heritage and folk narratives, using multimedia platforms to highlight the region’s balance between tradition and modernization.
Wang Tielong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Nordic Times in Sweden, said that his publication is committed to building bridges between Chinese and Western civilizations. Moving forward, he plans to leverage the “media + business” synergy to bring more Nordic enterprises to Guangxi and help Guangxi brands reach Scandinavian markets.

Long also advocated for innovative cultural storytelling, blending “culture + fashion,” “culture + technology,” and “culture + tourism” through formats like documentaries, animation, and virtual exhibitions to present Chinese philosophy in fresher and trendier ways abroad.
In the morning, delegates visited the Guangxi International Communication Center and the Dream Realm AI Exhibition Center, gaining firsthand insight into Guangxi’s innovations in international outreach and technology integration.
