XI’AN, March 25 (WSH) — The Information Office of the People’s Government of Shaanxi Province on Tuesday held a press conference to brief the public on the preparations for the 2025 (Yisi Year) Qingming Festival Grand Ceremony in Tribute to the Yellow Emperor.
According to Feng Haobin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Yellow Emperor Mausoleum Cultural Park in Shaanxi Province, the ceremony will be solemnly held at 9:50 a.m. on April 4 (Qingming Festival) at the Sacrificial Square on Qiaoshan Mountain, Huangling County, Yan’an City, Shaanxi Province.
Feng stated that this year’s ceremony will continue with the theme “Forging a Strong Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation and Advancing the New Journey of Chinese-style Modernization.” The ceremony will consist of nine formal segments. More than 350 representatives from various provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, as well as compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese communities, will gather in front of the Xuanyuan Hall to pay timeless and sincere tribute to the cultural ancestor who initiated Chinese civilization.
Ji Lei, Deputy Director of the Arts Division of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, noted that preparations for the ceremonial performance are nearly complete. On Monday, all performers conducted a full rehearsal at Zhongnan Concert Hall of Shaanxi Normal University. From March 31 to April 4, rehearsals will take place at the Yellow Emperor Mausoleum site, with the official performance scheduled for the morning of April 4.
It was also announced that the “Regulations on the Protection of the Yellow Emperor Mausoleum of Shaanxi Province” will formally take effect on April 1, marking a new phase of legal protection for the sacred site. “The introduction of this regulation is of great significance for ensuring that the government and relevant departments fulfill their legal responsibilities in managing and protecting this vital cultural heritage,” said Zhao Hong, Director of the First Division of Legislation under the Legislative Affairs Committee of the Standing Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Congress. “It will also contribute to the comprehensive protection and reasonable utilization of the Yellow Emperor Mausoleum and help promote local economic and social development.”
