On December 15, the “Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China: Tian Fengyin Great Wall Oil Painting Works Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Touring Exhibition Final Report Exhibition” officially opened at the Tian Fengyin Great Wall Art Museum in Yanqi Town, Huairou District, Beijing.
Organized by the Yanqi Town Government and hosted by the museum, the exhibition runs until December 31.
The exhibition showcases 108 oil paintings by renowned Great Wall-themed artist Tian Fengyin. The collection includes works from Tian’s two decades of artistic exploration and 20 new paintings created this year to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
This event marks the culmination of a regional tour that began on May 26 at the Zhangjiakou Exhibition Hall. Over the past six months, the exhibition has traveled across Hebei Province, Tianjin, and Beijing, drawing widespread attention and receiving high praise. Tens of thousands of visitors have marveled at Tian’s artistic interpretations of the Great Wall, a symbol of Chinese national spirit and cultural heritage.
One of the highlights is the grand oil painting Chinese Soul, measuring 2.3 meters in height and 18 meters in length. The piece captures the Great Wall’s majestic essence and serves as a centerpiece for visitors, many of whom pause to take photos. Another standout work, Snow Falling Inside and Outside the Great Wall, impresses with its delicate brushwork, evoking the sensation of snowflakes gently descending.
Tian expressed her hope that the exhibition would deepen appreciation for the Great Wall and its cultural significance. “Through this touring exhibition, we aim to preserve and promote the spirit of the Great Wall. By presenting it in artistic forms, we hope to root this symbol of Chinese heritage into the hearts of people at the grassroots level and contribute to the realization of the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation,” she said.
The exhibition has not only celebrated the beauty and grandeur of the Great Wall but also emphasized messages of unity, preservation, and patriotism. The event has been supported by the cultural and tourism authorities of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei, as well as organizations like the Zhangjiakou Cultural Tourism Bureau and Jinglong Group Museum.
As the final stop of this remarkable journey, the exhibition at the Tian Fengyin Great Wall Art Museum offers a unique opportunity to experience the grandeur of the Great Wall through the lens of fine art. Visitors have until the end of December to explore these masterpieces.
